ECI's environmental consulting team includes licensed geologists and engineers with greater than 25 years experience with the successful remediation of water resources, soils, air and hazardous wastes.
Our multidisciplinary team has mitigated properties with various land usage, sensitive receptors and chemicals of concern, including both organic chemicals (petroleum and chlorinated solvent chemicals,) and inorganic compounds (including arsenic lead, hexavalent chromium, perchlorate, nitrates), using proven techniques to achieve both regulatory agency health-risk-based approval, and our clients' target land-use scenarios. Our experience with various techniques range from removal, capping and containment, to chemical application and degradation treatments which reduce toxic compounds to less-hazardous constituents.
The ECI team aggressively implements effective stakeholder communication and involvement in all phases of remedial action, coupled with the selection of remediation techniques which minimize environmental exposure and hazardous-waste-management risks and costs associated with RCRA “cradle-to-grave” liability.

Implemented phases of appropriate remedial action will vary with site-specific contaminants and regulatory-approved “closure-strategy”, and may include:
-
Obtaining regulatory permits for air quality control, surface and waste-water quality control (NPDES; IWD/POTW), groundwater protection (WDR) and/or hazardous waste handling/discharge (RCRA)
-
Feasibility studies, bench-scale testing and/or pilot-tests for selected remediation techniques and alternatives
-
Soils remediation utilizing soil vapor extraction, bioventing, excavation & disposal, capping, thermal treatment techniques, and/or chemical stabilization)
-
Soil vapor and indoor-vapor-intrusion mitigation of methane and other VOCs, including passive and active venting systems, vapor barriers and liners, and monitoring/alarm system installations for indoor breathing zones
-
Groundwater remediation of separate-phase mobile hydrocarbon (LNAPL product), including skimmers, bailing, hydrophobic pumps, thermal enhancement of volatility and mobility, vertical and horizontal wells, and/or interceptor trenches.
-
Groundwater plume capture and remediation via conventional extraction (pump-and-treat) systems and ex-situ filtration (activated carbon; ion-exchange systems, etc.)
-
Groundwater remediation using in-situ chemical injection and stimulation of ambient aerobic or anaerobic bacteria within aquifers (oxygen- or hydrogen-release compounds), or strong oxidants (permanganate, persulfate, peroxide)
-
Use of automated monitoring and telemetric communication systems to improve remedial system performance and response times (including temperature and effluent-discharge permit limits)
